ENTERPRISE SOLUTIONS GROUP Ltd – (formerly: Concept Integrated Systems), Chessington – Software House

Senior Software Developer/Analyst - June 1990 to June 2003 - (made redundant)

I developed a Support Fault Logging Management System for hardware/software. This was developed using Visual Basic 6, ADO data access, SQL Server 2000 (using Access 2000 for prototyping/testing) & Crystal Reports 8.5.  Features include:-

o     Web enabled – A web site was developed using HTML, SQL server, IIS and ASP from VB-Script.  This site gives clients access to the support system allowing them to view historical/outstanding logs and submit new faults.

o      CTI – Phone system automatic call dialling and screen popping using both WinSock and TAPI.

o     Emails – These can optionally be sent to the clients on open, during and close of a fault using the MAPI interface.

I was also responsible for job costing sites that have an integrated stock control requirement, (clients renting/selling or maintaining stock/assets to customers via a job bag system with bar code reader/printer interface).  Particularly there were two major and profitable projects totalling four years development on the stock and Job Costing modules enhancing them to include.

o     Full stock control (SOP, POP from within a job or external to the Job Costing module and stock-takes)

o     Bar code print capability and reading using hand held scanners for stock movement control

o     Rental and Maintenance billing jobs (Hardware and Software)

As Senior Software Developer/Analyst I reported to the Software Development Manager, my role encompassed designing and developing the standard software, liasing with new and existing clients up to board level, analyse their business needs and carrying out any modifications to the standard software or if required, bespoke work.

I had responsibility for quotations, functional and design specifications, scheduling of project work, controlling development, project management, programming, quality control, data conversion, internal/external documentation, training and ensuring that the finished work was signed off by the client.

Previous responsibilities have included redesigning/developing fully multi-user Sales Order Processing, Stock control, Bill of Materials and Fixed asset modules, all of which fully integrate with the standard accounts package and interface with Microsoft Office 2000. Written using a structured 4GL called IDOL. Clients range from 8 to 80 users on UNIX, Windows/terminal server and NT.

Order processing –   I have been responsible for all distribution/stock based clients and for the redesign/development to cater for both Telesales and Point of Sale. This processes sales orders through from Quotes/Orders, (to optionally Despatch notes/Picking Lists), then to Invoices. Integrating with the Stock, Sales and Nominal ledgers.

Bonus Commission – I was responsible for the Phase 2 development for the Evening Standard newspaper’s distribution department to periodically calculated bonus payments based on daily sales against returns of newspapers.

Job Costing –         Involved in enhancing, tailoring and implementing into numerous advertising agencies, responsible for the project management of sites through to implementation. It caters for Quotes, Estimates, Timesheets, Expenses, Accruals, WIP, Invoicing,  Purchasing, Profitability analysis and Scheduling (incl. Gantt Charts) and periodic rental and maintenance invoicing.  Full Asset/Stock control and Barcode reading/printing.
